Lake Samish Music Camp is an incredible opportunity for your music student to participate in an inclusive, rigorous, and fun summer camp experience.

Our focus is on improving each camper's skills as musicians and performers in an inspiring environment.

Now in it's eighth year, this is a full camp where students participate in small & large ensembles (including a symphony orchestra!), and have individual instruction on their primary instrument by highly qualifed instructors. In addition, the camp experience is unmatched in the Northwest with all the unique activities that Lake Samish has to offer.

Successful experiences in music

There are many opportunities for your student to learn not only on their primary instrument but also try a new instrument, play in a new type of ensemble, and receive instruction by knowledgeable teachers.

Music staff will be made up by teachers who exemplify a passion for music, teaching students and creating successful experiences. They are some of the finest music teachers, performers and/or college music majors available. Joe Dyvig, orchestra teacher in the Olympia School District, serves as camp director.

Students can choose two electives to learn more about music, maybe an area they don't get to do at school!

Electives include: African Marimbas, Beginning Band, Beginning Strings, Jazz Band, Music Theory & Composition, Jazz Improvisation, Theater Sports, Beginning Guitar

Recreation opportunities include: Hiking, Swimming, Canoeing, Blobbing, High Ropes Challenge Course

A beautiful getaway close to Bellingham

Located on the shores of Lake Samish in the shadow of the Chuckanut Mountains, the camp is hosted by the Lutherwood Camp & Retreat Center. Travel time is approx 10 minutes south of Bellingham and 90 minutes north of Seattle along Interstate 5.

Yes, this is a real camp!

Every camper will have a true camp experience. Meals and housing are provided in the cost of the camp. Campers stay in rustic cabins located on the Lutherwood property. Bring your sleeping bag or bedding!

Each cabin will be divided into cabin groups based on age and gender with trained Lutherwood staff who are excellent in ensuring safety and security. The food is top notch, even for picky eaters!

Costs:

Cost for student attending is $520.
There is an early bird discount of $50 (if you apply by April 15, 2017)
and a $50 sibling discount (if two or more from a family attend).
Unlike other summer camps, our costs include:
all housing, meals, activities, and materials.
